A trauma-informed, multi-lens approach to working with trauma therapeutically, through the Kaleidoscope Trauma Framework™
October 2026 – March 2027 | 57 CPD hours | In-person (Blackburn) & online supervision
Course overview
The Advanced Certificate in Therapeutic Trauma Practice is a professional training for qualified and final-year trainee counsellors and therapists who want to develop confidence and competence in working with trauma as it emerges in the therapeutic room.
Rather than teaching a trauma modality or protocol, this course offers a philosophy-led approach to therapeutic practice. It supports practitioners to work ethically, relationally, and within scope when trauma is present, without relying on specific trauma interventions.
At the heart of the training is the Kaleidoscope Trauma Framework™. A trauma-informed, multi-lens framework developed from lived experience, practitioner experience, and practitioner research, and informed by biopsychosocial perspectives, somatic approaches, and anti-oppressive practice.
Within this approach, trauma is understood as an embodied, lived, and relational experience, shaping therapeutic process across mind, body, relationships, and environment, rather than being defined primarily through diagnosis, disorder, or intervention models.
