Training & Professional Development
My life experience, professional expertise, and academic training inform all the mental health training I provide. I have delivered a variety of training days, workshops, and group supervision sessions across private practice, voluntary organisations, and third-sector settings. I specialise in providing training courses and guidance within the therapeutic, early help, family support, chronic illness, and neurodivergence sectors, and my work is informed by lived experience of neurodivergence, chronic illness, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ identities.
My approach is trauma-informed, inclusive, and practical, blending theory with real-world application. Training sessions are tailored to the needs of participants, ensuring that professionals leave equipped with knowledge, skills, and confidence to support diverse clients effectively, while fostering ethical, inclusive, and reflective practice in their own work. I am passionate about creating learning spaces where participants feel seen, supported, and empowered to enhance their practice and positively impact the communities they serve.
I am a senior Continuous Professional Development associate with Training For Counsellors and an lead facilitator on their Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling plus & both a creator/facilitator, co creator/facilitator for their Trauma-Informed & Neurodivergent awareness in practice CPD events.
As part of my role with TFC, I am currently developing an Advanced Certificate in Trauma-Informed Therapy, which is due to be launched October 2026. If you would like more details or to register an interest in the course please email me at linsey@training-for-counsellors.co.uk.
Public Speaking:
I bring both lived experience and professional expertise to public speaking, covering topics such as living with and managing chronic health conditions, neurodivergence, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ identities.
I have shared insights at conferences, podcasts, workshops, and professional forums both in the UK & abroad, creating spaces that foster awareness, understanding, and compassionate dialogue. My approach blends personal perspective with professional knowledge, offering trauma-informed, inclusive, and practical insights that resonate with a wide range of audiences. My approach aims to challenge stigma, promote neurodiversity-affirming and disability-inclusive practices, and highlight the intersections of identity, health, and mental wellbeing. I strive to create talks that are engaging, thought-provoking, and empowering, leaving participants with both knowledge and practical strategies to support clients, colleagues, or communities more effectively.
